    Van Cliburn

Has anyone been following the Van Cliburn Piano Competition held last week in Ft. Worth, TX, USA? On my classical radio
station they have been highlighting it all week and even had some live performances of the competition. There were two gold medalists this year, a tie. Olga Kern and Stanislav Loudenitch.

Sort of pertinent: Joy, is Van Cliburn still performing? He is the most famous piano competition winner ever, but he semi-retired in 1978. Does this legendary American still wow them stateside?

No, he doesn't perform any longer but he does
speak at conferences around the country. Of course, they still play his performances on classical radio, so I guess he still wowing us over here so to speak, thanks for asking.
