    The orchestral parts.

In an orchestra the performers have, in front of them, printed music. For instance the flutes have in front of them the part the flutes play in the work. Not the whole score but only the music they play. Is there an English term for these parts? Perhaps "the orchestral parts"? I think in Italian the name is "particella". But I looked for particella in wiktionary.org and it does not give a musical English equivalent.

    We just call them "parts."

Thanks Chris. We use the same word: partes.
