    Most of us here knows how a piano key works, but I find this animation mesmerising and fascinating!

      That's pretty good. My piano is a 1910 upright and it's kind of fascinating to peek at the mechanism.

        I've done some repair to my Grinnel Bros. upright. The mechanism is beastly to work on. Replaced a lot of bridle straps. One time I replaced a hammer arm with a wooden popsicle stick. I worked, and is still going. although I am terrible at tuning.

            I didn't know. The animation reminds me of a Rube Goldberg contraption.
