Yes and we can go further back of course and marvel at the Pantheon in Rome for example - almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome.

Yes, it is well built. Peter, at the end of the documentary the presenter showed how automotons led to gramophone recordings and wound one up. And the record was the 7th! Which played out into the credits. It was a perfect conclusion to a programme about human achievements.
