    March Slave, Tchaikovsky

I am practicing March Slave at the moment, trying to improve my timing.
I was wondering if this piece is 2nd or 3rd grade.?

That would depend on what arrangement you have of it!

Yes sorry Peter, I should have mentioned it is adapted for piano.
      Apologies for the poor image.

It's no more than grade 2. How are your lessons going?

Is the theme with which the march debuts Tchaikovsky's own, Sorrano?

Thanks Peter, according to my tutor I am making steady progress, though sometimes I think otherwise. I can play the piece above through but not perfect timing, which is something I have to really concentrate on. I
Sometimes when I go back to pieces that I have played nicely and the tutor has been happy with it, if I have left that piece too long, I notice get rusty again.
I have my ups and downs, and if I get tired practicing a piece, I then leave it and take a breather out in the garden, tidy up etc.
I enjoy my lessons all the same.

No, it is a Serbian folk song.
