C minor: G, F# (or should it be A double flat, and G flat?)
B minor: F#, E# (aka F)

Yes for C minor it has to be G, F# NOT Abb Gb - this is because we need the 5th and 4th notes of the scale - forget the accidentals and count up including the key note - the notes have to be a G and an F for that reason.

This is also why you are correct with E# in B minor but you should not think it as F!

Thanks Peter, I think I get you.

It's about 25 years since I did any serious music theory, so I was just guessing based on bits I remembered.

The reason I had second thoughts about C minor, was because its relative major key (E flat) only has flats in, so I wondered if that meant every accidental in the minor key also had to be flattened rather than sharpened.
