    a clarification

On and off on these forums I have talked about rock music. I want to clarify.

What made me want to make this post was the fact that I said in another thread that "I am not too much of a fan" of Metallica. When in fact, I am not a fan at all - they are hardcore brutes of humans - I have no tolerance for that filth.

In fact, I am not a fan of any rock. I was raised listening to it - so I guess I have it in my blood - but believe me I want it out. The music alone is too wild and distorted (both mentally and sound wise). The feelings of the rock music are anything but what I want to feel. And, then the musicians sit there looking all cool (which "cool" imo, is a joke of an image of ones true-self), all while they sit there promoting and encouraging some of the filthiest of things.

For instance, marijuana - they act like smoking pot is the coolest thing - when in fact people who are actually serious minded people have used pot for extremely deep meditation and calmness for thousands of years - they do not use it to dance around like a bunch of lunatics to a bunch of funky grooves and beats!

I am sickened by the state of rock, metal, screamo, etc. It disgusts me. Greatly!

Anyway, I wanted to clarify that, because I have said different in the past.

Preston, as I grew up my brothers around me always listened to whatever was popular on the radio. The Beatles and the Moody Blues particularly stick in mind during this period, but what influenced me most was the music that my mother played on the piano, mostly Mozart. To this day my mind automatically shuts out most popular music that is being played on radio wherever I go. My radio is set to a classical station or I listen to CD's when I have the time. In essence, I've limited as much as I can whatever exposure I get to the popular music of today.
