That means in Enlish, ''which was to be demonstrated''.
It means we have proved what we set out to prove.
AN EXAMPLE: fire is hot and burns. If I put my hand in the fire, my hand would burn. QED, meaning , I have made a proposition that fire is hot and I have proved it by saying that if I put my hand in the fire, it burns.
Thus, Roehre says, he will be back on 20th, that was the proposition he made. He has come back on the 20th, and therefore has proved his propostion true. QED.
The abbreviation thus signals the completion of the proof.
Thanks Megan. Though I think I am even more confused now, lol. Anyway, my understanding is, basically put - I said he would be posting momentarily and he did, hence the QED?
Roehre uses these abbreviations sometimes and I always look them up to figure them out ex. ROTFL = rolling on the floor laughing - a good one to know. Though this one just confused me.
So QED indeed Roehre, .
