Quite imaginative, I think the cute robin looks impressed anyway.
You do get these strange formations with gnarled trees and roots, depinging on the way you look at them.

I like to think of the 1st picture (Encounter at Greenspindle) as the wood dragon being a shepherd of the forest. Using his magic for purposes of good. I wish the lighting was different in that one to give it more of that "fantasy" feel, it is to stale and stagnant, imo.

It's a strange creature to choose as shepherd of the forest.

            I think I would choose a deer,
            Doe, a deer, a deer , a female deer,
Ray, a drop of golden, sun,
Me, a name I call myself,
Far, a long, long way to run
            Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So,
Tea a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do,
Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La , Ti, Do !

Excuse me while I have senior Sound of Music moment .

Well, I guess it comes down to our own perspective. I actually believe the deer is a shepherd of the forests of earth, in a sense. Though, the wood dragon is not of earth, it is of fantasy and imagination - and perhaps there is another planet with wood dragons - kind of like a planet where nature reigns and not flesh.

These wood dragons which Phil McDarby created, I like to think of as a sacred creature and being. Though, each to their own of course.
