    Mozart as waste disposal

    Now, I know some on this forum have been lamenting a lack of interest in classical music in the UK (if not elsewhere). Such articles (click on the link below) hardly help, I suppose.

      If you phone Virgin Media and get put on hold you get either Mozart or Vivaldi. I requested some Beethoven!

        Hello Tillyvalle. I often wonder what is the reasoning behind companies that use classical music when putting callers on hold. Do they think it will relax them?
        Concerning the article I posted above, it flabbergasts me for its sheer idiocy. Where is the "science" behind it?

          When I saw the thread title my first thought was to some of the Mozart CD's that are geared toward the not-so-involved in Classical music and usually contain less than desirable performances.
