A spot of bother again !

    Dear Peter/Chris,
I have recently purchased a new Laptop and tried to log in with my user name 'Amalie'
but got the message that user name is already taken, so I changed the spelling to 'Amilee' and was accepted in, though I much prefer the former spelling.
    Please help !

    Many thanks
    Amalie.

You didn't try to log in, you tried to register. Since you had already registered the original spelling, it didn't allow you to do it again. All you need to do to post under your old name is type it in along with your password that went along with that name. For example, when you are creating or replying to a topic, the fields for Username and Password are right above where you type in the text of your post.

Yes, I am doing exactly as I have always done, but getting the message that my password is incorrect when replying to a message.

Hmm. It looks like your old profile has been corrupted. I will work on fixing this. But first, can you tell me - do you remember about when you registered and how many posts you had?

Jeepers Chris, ! I've been around since 2002 but under a different ID, and think I probably registered on the board around 2003 as Amalie, but as far as the number of posts, I suspect that information may now be lost as it can only be accessed from my other Laptop which is now in for repair.
Perhaps the best solution is to stick to the spelling I have now. What do you think ?

Sorry for the delay. You should be all set now with your old username. Your password is the one you used to create your "Amilee" account.

"Amilee" no longer exists, by the way.

Thankyou Chris, (Mr. Fixit) - I am pleased to have my old name back again!
