My criticisms of Mahler's eccentricities were soley in respect of his 'improvements' to Beethoven!

Right on my friend! *high fives*

My opinion of Mahler: He started out good, got really bad, and then improved towards the end of his life, and wrote the 9th Symphony, one of the best of the 20th century. When his work is performed even slightly off, it sounds horribly, horribly, wrong. That's why I only really trust Bruno Walter and lesser known conductors with Mahler, those who take his music faster!

Some have said I am ripe for the Madhouse. Does that make me Beethoven? No, but it is interesting.
