Spouse and myself love plane-spotting and have been known to spend a day or two at our local international airport just for the pleasure of watching the 'heavies' coming in and going out. It's incredibly relaxing.
The A380 is a phenomenal aircraft and its days seem to be numbered, very sadly. Watching this gigantic bird gracefully heave into the sky, with up to 500 souls aboard, is a modern wonder of the world. We've both said that our time on this planet has been marked by some amazing achievements; FM radio, the internet and wi-fi, the CD and the A380. Having flown a few times long-haul in Business Class on the Emirates A380 we can testify to its stability and relative quietness. There was no serious air turbulence during our many many hours in the air in the A380.
With many airlines now giving up on the A380 in favour of smaller aircraft with better fuel economy, we can only hope the Emirates hub in Dubai sustains the business model necessary to keep this leviathan in service. One of life's pleasures to watch and experience: at 14:05 here, the joy is to be found!!
