Can anyone confirm a quote of Robert Schumann 's regarding Beethoven's Symphony no 4 he called it"a slender gorgeous maiden between two nordic giants."

Scarcely anyone respected Beethoven more than Schumann did. If he didn't say it, he should have, this sounds so much like him that I give credence to it on style alone. Damn, I wish I had said it. ;-)
