Rare Page - 'Lustig und Traurig', WoO54

The last of the rare works is now available to members at www.kingsbarn.freeserve.co.uk/rare.html

Thanks to Rod for sharing all those pieces with us (around 75 I counted!)

From next week a new page will feature recordings on period instruments, also supplied by Rod.

No probs chaps. Old campaigners may recognise this mp3, I presented it here some time ago when discussing fortepianos. But I'm sure it will be new to most current members. I poignant piece I think, all the more so played on this 1784 Stein copy.

Really enjoyed this piece, beautiful! Made it all the more special on the Stein copy.
Thanks Rod, for taking us all on this fascianting journey through the rare pieces of Beethoven's world. Enjoyed them all! Looking forward to the next group!

Yes but now the page will concern the main works, as performed on period instruments, the current track nicely linking the transition. Hopefully there should be enough somewhere in there to maintain your interest Chop.

And you've today got access to some new downloads from Handel at the Handelforum:
                http://groups.yahoo.com/group/handelforum/message/101

This piece from Handel is one of THE great works of the repertoire. Can't say I don't give you guys quality stuff. Non-members join up and find out for yourself!

Sure there will be. The Beethoven Forum in itself is a site of interest for any Beethoven enthusiast. But tell me, the Period Page will feature complete works (eg: the 4 movements of the Eroica) or fragments?

Only single movements Chop. How much web space do you think I have?! Also I think moral/legal issues raise their heads if complete works are made available.
