    Mass in C

For those who don't have this work, you can download it here: http://mp3.com/artists/80/twin
This might not be the best version (Twin Cities Catholic Chorale) but it's free!

Also Napster is a GREAT source for WoOs or pieces difficult to find in shops. In fact I found this one on Napster.
Buy this before saying you don't like Mahler:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000001G96/qid=983416747/sr=1-1/ref=sc_m_1/104-8436844-5169509
    You'll thank me later...

          TO SUZIE:-

My favourite recording is a live performance (and is all the more electric for that), from Tokyo, in 1994. All tempi are sensible, and the balance between orchestra, soloists and choir is ideal. Label: ARTE NOVA (74321 304612).

Listening to this mass again, I find it astonishing that it is not held in higher esteem; clearly, it has suffered by being Beethoven`s `other` mass. For my money, it is more tuneful than the `Missa Solemnis` - there are so many highpoints, but the `Miserere` from the `Gloria` is particularly beautiful. It is also full of wonderful orchestral touches, typically rich in melodic and harmonic material, showing that Beethoven must have invested a great deal of love and care in the work.

Suzie, the ARTE NOVA recording retails for about £5 in the U.K. BUY TODAY!!
