    Op.36

    In the finale of the 2nd symphony there is a moment near the end in which the orchestra is stopped in a fortissimo a major 7th chord, followed by a quiet f# major stated piano by the strings. Is this where the coda starts, or it started before?

    I should say it starts earlier at bar 294.

        Well count back from the two chords you mentioned by around 40 bars and you'll be there! It is the Forte statement of the main theme at about that point.
