    What a beatiful wood the Nannette-based piano is made of! What type of wood is it? It is varnished, right?

      These Walter pianos typically had two knee levers situated on the base of the casing. Also on pianos of this time you sometimes find a 'stop' knob on the facia above the keys that would operate an effect.

      Regarding the question about the wood of the Streicher copy, I'm not sure what it is, but the colour u see would be a natural one, coated with some protective polish (but not simple varnish I hope!).
