I'm surprised your classical radio station doesn't play a bigger variety of classics. I, too, wouldn't want to hear pieces from the Romantic era again and again, probably wouldn't want to hear any of the eras (baroque, classical) again and again. I like a more varied program of classical music myself, makes it more enjoyable. BTW, they reenacted an 1840's concert at Arizona State University recently on an 1800 organ they have. The concert was originally performed by Felix Mendelssohn playing all Bach. I know, nothing to do with Beethoven, but interesting nonetheless.

The recording I got (on lp) is at about 15 to 20 years old and I am not sure whether or not it is available in CD format. (At least I haven't seen it since.)

It's played with modern instruments, but with the conventions of the period (that is reduced in size to about 40 instrumentalists and 40 member choir). It's on a Phillips label. I was most impressed by the linear motion of the phrases and smart tempi.
