    Hi Maria,

Your piece is interesting, but rather unnerving in its dissonance. Your website does not say anything about the composition of the actual music. Can you tell us something about why you wrote the music this way? Were you influence by a certain composer or style? Were you trying to evoke a certain feeling with the music?

Hi Chris, thanks for your intrest in the song : )

The feeling in the music composition I want to evoke is the feeling of an 1700 century classical music full orchestra sound mixed with a Jewish traditional sound and at the same time I wanted to insert a modern sound wich I try to insert whit the heavy bass drums in the verses. I did learn yesterday that I should have been using more reverb to the instruments to create a sound of a big hall or a church to make the sound more realistic. I have been using a very simple music program but to the next song I will invest in a more high quality sound music program : ) I was also trying to create the historian sound of a big parad wich traditonally plays when a king is coming, The songs name is "The king is coming" and is about the parable of "the ten virgins" and about the son of God Jeshua´s second coming, so I thought a parad sound would be matching : ) And I also tryed to create the sound of horse legs running in vers one you can hear it most clearly.

        Dear Maria,
I share your faith in Jesus as the Son of God but I am a bit irritated that you express His coming with such dissonant sounds. To be honest this does not sound like the coming of a loving and glorious king to me that I am looking forward to ...

Well, the words are nice, and the voice is nice, but the music is not my style. My preference for faith music is perhaps as irritating in a different way. It is heavy metal faith music. Sample video.

Harvey, heavy metal rock bands are just not my style. What ear can bear to hear manic shouting and screaming and thrashing when it comes to gospel music? Its earthly music.
Whereas, truly sacred music creates its own quiet space for us enter and inhabit , and our spirit is refreshed and lifted from this manic world.

I grew up with metal music and abandoned it when I was born again. I was glad to find Stryper, but I listen to a lot of other faith music, such as Beethovens Christus am Olberge, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise (Lobgesang or Symphony 2).

In the non classical realm I really love the gospel music of Johnny Cash,

and I like the old-time gospel music of the early blues men.

Incidentally, it was a Stryper song, To Hell With The Devil, that lyrics of which kept coming to mind in temptation and helped me to kick a life-long sin habit.

One genera that I really can't stand is Contemporary Christian Music.

I like your image (so-called avatar). The head covering is very biblical.

Now, if folks will bear with me, and if I am not hijacking the thread, I wanted to share an awesome video in a genre of music that I can't stand but somehow the gospel message and this man's presentation really make this a wonderful rap. Steven Wiley was trying to reach out to ghetto kids. Says they know all the words to the popular rap songs, so why not rap about Jesus.
