I already listened to Symphonies 1-4 and am really excited. Can hardly wait for the 18th of October for the 5th. I hear they will release this on CD. It could become my desert island Beethoven symphony cycle! Of course much depends on the vocals in the Ninth.

Thanks Harvey, will look out for those. I think you meant 18th of November for the 5th. The Arundel venue is very close to where I live and under normal circumstances I could have been there in person. I'm surprised they can do the 9th especially if we're still in lockdown?

I'm going to wish everyone a happy Beethoven 250th day in advance as I'm moving home and will be unable to post for a few days - so thank you to all our members for their great contributions. Thank you Beethoven for the joy of your music.

Happiness in your new abode Peter, I hope you will be settled in for a lovely Christmas.
I bet none of us have moved as many times as Beethoven. I'd be worried about the piano being moved so many times.

Last night Fred Child, in Performance Today, was talking about music for the holidays in films. Reference was made to Charlie Brown's Christmas and then he announced that shortly we would hear from Schroeder's favorite composer.
