    Lynn Harrell and Martin Lovett R.I.P.

    Two fine cellists have died within two days of each other.

    I was listening to the Amadeus Quartet's recordings of the Beethoven Opus 18 works only a day before I heard of the death of Martin Lovett.

    Lynn Harrell's recordings with Ashkenazy of the Beethoven Cello Sonatas are my personal favourites.

    Sad news indeed.

    Martin Lovett - The end of an era!
    Lynn Harrell was a very fine musician.
