    Happy New Beethoven Year

I'm a little early here ushering in the new year - but it's a big one!
Not only is it the 250th anniversary of you-know-who but it's (and correct me if I'm wrong) the 20th anniversary of this website.

There are only a few of us left, but I think a music website that has lasted 20 years - thanks to Peter and Chris - is something to be proud of. It has to be some sort of record (or CD or streaming or whatever).

Everything is changing in this new decade - but if we can struggle on for another seven years - we might be able to celebrate the death of Beethoven in 2027. "Celebrate" is the wrong word but the whole world "celebrated" the death of Mozart in 1991.

In the meantime there will be celebrations of the first performance of Beethoven's 9th, in a few years - so I think there will be a lot of our dear friend in the next few years. As if he needed the exposure.

Anyway, New Year greetings to all my old friends (whom I've never met) on this wondrous occasion.

And in case you think I have been drinking too much, I can assure you I am totally with it.
In fact, I have just listened to Chopin's Twelfth Symphony - all four hours of it - on my Sonus streaming service.

    How's that for 2020 technology?

I wish a Happy New to all, as well! Seems I've only been on this forum 19 years.
