    Happy 249th, Ludwig!

The celebrations start today - a whole year of them which will lead up to the 250th birthday on December 16th, 2020.
The actual birthday cannot be confirmed, so the year will extend to cover the 17th of December next year.

As Beethoven is arguably the most-performed composer on the planet - what more possible exposure can this guy get?
Well, not enough in my opinion.

With music being marginalized - if not exterminated - in many schools in Ireland and England - maybe 2020 will give things a jolt in the rear end.

Anyway, here's to the man who has kept me sane since I discovered him back in 1968 when I was 22 (which is about equivalent to 12 nowadays.)

And I have to mention my beautiful granddaughter who is 10 today (of all days! Is it just a coincidence?)

A belated Happy Birthday, Beethoven, from his biggest fan here in Heiligenstadt.
