    Composers double birthday.

May 7 is the date of both Johannes Brahms’ birthday (7 May 1833) and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
    (7 May 1840)

Celebrating a double birthday bash, listening to -

Brahms, Piano Trio in B Major, op 8 - Istomin-Stern-Rose

Martha Argerich - Tchaikovsky: Piano Trio in A minor Op. 50
‘Roses do not bloom hurriedly; for beauty, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom.’

I'd forgotten they shared the same day - they met on several occasions and though Tchaikovsky liked Brahms as a person, he intensely disliked his music and considered him 4th rate as a composer - strange. Both the trios you're listening to are wonderful.

7 May..... alssssso interesting from a Beethoven angle:
in 1800, he gave a public performance as pianist in Budapest
in 1805, I have it down as the first public performance of the Eroica
in 1824, if I'm not mistaken, the fist (and famous) performance of the 9th in the Kärntnerthor Theatre !
