Orchestra soloist syncronization.

In 17:00 how does the orchestra do to start simultaneously with the piano? Boremboin uses only his head. I don't like performances where the conductor and the soloist are the same person.

The head is enough, particularly when they have rehearsed and know what to expect.

I do not see Lennie moving the head to signal the time. He is using a stick (batuta).

He stops using the stick after a few seconds and resorts to nods and facial expressions.
