So Gerd and NickJB, how about taking a Beethoven string quartet and arranging it for piano solo?

As Beethoven himself did with the Grosse Fuge (albeit for four hands).

Yes, this is interesting but for me not as fascinating as arranging them for orchestra as I did for example with the awesome finale from op. 131:

Listen to this with headphones !!

Oh wow gprengel... that's astonishing to listen to. It really does Beethoven justice for me, and your brass/woodwinds are nicely placed. I want to learn to write for symphony haha. Beethoven's works have a grand quality to them that can sound amazing in larger ensembles don't they? And Debussy was quite brave for making a solo piano into orchestra haha, it seems to have turned out nicely. Those harps are awesome!

This is an arrangement (almost completed) of the 7th piano sonata 1st mvt I've been working on... https://soundcloud.com/user-57079544...ta-no-7-for-sq

Dear Nick, I am glad that you like my orchestration of the op.131 Finale. I have made quite a few more from Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Bach ( well-tempered piano), which in the coming months I will all record with my new Tool NotePerformer...

Your arrangement of the Beethoven sonata is quite good, but I must admit that the arrangement of the same sonata by https://soundcloud.com/jeff-briggs-1 still sounds even more convincing regarding dynamics and expression. We all can learn a lot from him ..
