I go with this answer: -

I feel sorry for the teacher who wrote this - it seems from the article that her question has been taken out of context.

In fairness, I think she put it in as a sort of joke.
Which is the last thing one needs in a maths exam!
Incidentally, does anyone know if any conductor has got through the Ninth in 40 minutes?
