Why do I always forget this date!

Coincidentally, on this same date in 1778, Beethoven made his first known public performance which took place in Cologne.
As is well known, his father advertised his age as six years, although he was in fact seven, probably to draw favourable comparisons with the child prodigy Mozart. He played 'various clavier concertos and trios'.
