    Any Boris Godunov fans here?

My most recent opera obsession has been with the Boris Godunov. I had seen it live in the 1980s and then never revisited it until a month ago when I got the bug for it and bought the Gergiev set that has both the 1869 original and 1872 revison of Mussorgsky's orchestration. I am thrilled with this opera and am watching it on DVD (1872) and will then watch the 1869 on DVD. If any of you are big fans of Boris Godunov, which do you prefer 1869 or 1872?

Personally, I prefer Mussorgsky's orchestration. It's been awhile since I've listened to either one, but I am a big fan of this opera, as well.
