I've found an excellent online music course run by Curtis Institute of Music, and from what I can tell it is free. They offer two courses, one on the Beethoven Piano Sonatas and another on the String Quartet (not specifically Beethoven). They also have discussion forums for those enrolled, it looks very good but I cannot guarantee it as I haven't done one of these myself before, I've just enrolled;
