    The extraordinary Pietro Raimondi

    Raimondi was unique in that he composed works that could be played separately or combined, thus we have his triple Oratorio (1848) which can be performed separately as 3 works or played simultaneously as one! He also wrote a double opera.

    This was interesting especially how he was honoured by the Pope at that time. Always great to learn something new!

      I had no idea anyone tried something so ambitious. I love counterpoint, so I'll definitely have to look into this music further!

        Nor had I until I came across it in Alan Walker's wonderful biography of Liszt who was equally astonished at the feat!
