I'm considering lining up to stand in the arena for Schiff's Goldberg Variations. Problem is I hate standing, and I'll have to be front of line for it to really be worth it, and I hate waiting in lines.

For those who have BBC, Beethoven's Ninth is on tonight (19th July). Programme starts at 7.30 on BBC 3 Radio and at 9pm on BBC 4 TV. The latter is a recording from earlier.

This work used to be performed on the second-last night of the Proms but they have moved it around recently.
