    Beethoven

Does anyone know which piece of Beethoven's music was used in the movie "Zardoz" starring Sean Connery? I have remembered this music since I was a child and I long to hear it again.

    John,
Since I haven't seen the movie, I did a little research. It was the beautiful 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony. It's a great piece of music!

Even my friend who doesn't like Beethoven that much (perfers Mozart) is astounded by the genius of this movement.

I think just about everyone loves this movement. When I heard it in concert you could have heard a pin drop everyone was so quiet and attentive. It's really quite moving.

It is my solemn duty to inform you all that Sarah Brightman has recorded a vocal version of this movement. You have been warned.

Another nail into classical music - there seems to be a conspiracy to kill off great music.

Oh yes there are a lot of conspiracies of this kind, but they will never kill Beethoven's music, that is impossible... even for a singer !!!
