    Anne-Sophie Mutter always insisted on playing this just before the "Spring Sonata" as she felt they were an inseparable pair, especially as they are in complete contrast to each other.

    The two sonatas were originally published under the same opus number, but the A minor has never attained the popularity of the "Spring" which is a pity because it's a fantastic piece.

    Getting back to violin with orchestra, the WoO No. 5 fragment (mentioned above) is wonderful. Unfortunately, all that is left is the exposition and I think a tiny bit beyond that. There are several "completed" versions but the piece holds together on its own.
