    Yes it's the first night of the marathon proms season again - it's here frighteningly too quickly for my liking!

      Yes the one I really wanted to watch, but I shall be in Italy - oh well I'm sure there are compensations there!

          Last night on BBC 4 - Beethoven symphony no.4 and Mozart Requiem completed by Robert Levin rather than the usual Sussmayer version - very enjoyable.

            I have still to watch the Pastorale and a Mozart concerto (I think it is..) on iplayer! Must do soon!

                    Just finished watching Missa Solemnis- my favourite part is the Sanctus- the solo violin is lovely.

                    Just looked at my Missa Solemnis CD and it is John Eliot Gardner with the Monteverdi Choir and The English Baroque Soloists- historically informed performance.

                      Just arrived home after watching the Ninth performed by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and conducted by Alan Gilbert. I thought it was a great performance.
