      Tonight was the night I attended the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Riccardo Muti conducting Beethoven's Fifth and Mahler's First. Was at Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus. Absolutely wonderful concert.

            Great Harvey! I have String Quartet Opus 135 to look forward to in 2 weeks.

            And a free concert of String Quartet op. 18, no. 1 on 9th December.

                      Yes I wonder if it was the inspiration for the finale of Mahler's 3rd symphony which is also very beautiful - he entitled the movement 'what love tells me'.

                        The University lunchtime concerts series is delighted to welcome a quartet of players from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Alexander Marks and Sophie Coles (violins), Robert Shepley (viola) and Gethyn Jones (cello), to play popular works by Beethoven and Shostakovich.
