I am just watching Letter from an Unknown Woman, a vintage film about a teenaged girl, Lisa, in 1900 Vienna who falls in love with a pianist when he moves into her apartment block.
Later on, after Lisa's family have moved away, she returns to Vienna to find him, they meet ( but he doesn't remember her from before) they have a romance, then he leaves to travel to do concerts and she has his child. She never writes to tell him.
As the years pass Lisa marries another man, and one night they are at the opera and she sees the pianist there in one of the boxes. She tells her husband she's got a headache... and Lisa and the pianist meet again....
Look whose bust is sitting behind the window...
