Thanks Peter, I am just reading this article on dear Ludwig's health and the subject of lead poisoning- this is a relatively new article. I have read about the lead found in his hair before, and how it was thought the lead in his body was from later on in his life, but here they are saying it was going back to his early 20s. This is interesting, as he did seem to have something happen to him which ruined his health for life at that age. I always presumed it was the Typhus as he did say that he never felt right after contracting that awful disease. I have always admired him, how he worked so hard on his music despite hardly having a healthy day in his whole life.

Forgive me- I don't intend to be morbid- I have an interest in medical history and how doctors treated people back then and enormous sympathy for Ludwig's sufferings. I wish they had been able to help him more.
