Pardon me for maybe using the wrong thread, but I guess I could say I got something new today regarding my "Beethoven collection" -- I happened to stumble across the original manuscript of the Eroica symphony, of course in a museum in Vienna and all I have is a sweet memory of it (that will never be erased!) but the moment when it caught my eye was amazing.

For those visiting Vienna this spring, you may see this treasure quite surprisingly in the Lower part of the Belvedere Palace called Orangerium, where there is an exhibition now celebrating the 200-year anniversary of the Congress of Vienna. What struck me was the size of the manuscript, it was so small! Yet containing such a treasure. The hole on the front page where there used to be Napoleon's name made me laugh out loud So go see it if you can! The exhibition is there until June the 21st.

Although I do not possess anything other than his music on CDs or LPs and a number of books about him and his works, I only live two and a half hours away from the Beethovenhaus by car and I've been there a few times. I am likely to go again soon, there's an exhibition on his testaments I would like to see:
