In fact, I read that Beethoven wanted a short pause, but not more than 7 seconds, between the end of the duet and the finale. To me, the inserted overture horribly disrupts the flow.

Mozart:
Piano concerto no.25 (Murray Perahia).
Piano concerto no.26 (Murray Perahia).
His music is gentle and endowed with grace. But he could be terrible too, like a thunderbolt, as the concerto in D minor shows. Of course there no words that can delve into the depths of his soul. I think I listening to too many concerts lately. Some good symphonies will remedy it.Last edited by Enrique; 03-17-2014, 06:51 AM.

Happy St Patrick's Day to you Michael! One Irish composer I really like is John Field- especially his Nocturnes.Ludwig van Beethoven
