Er, ah, yes indeed, we are. This seems to be a common problem of web forums. If only there was a simple way to link out to the general forum as things go off topic. It's music related so fine - anything else really belongs in the other forum which is why we created it. Yes I love to listen outside in the garden on mp3 to music, until a helicopter flies over or next door's strimmer gets going!

Oh I live on a busy main road so have the following going on in my garden ( I am in a 2 up 2 down where everything faces the front):

buses
cars
police cars with sirens
an obssessive ice cream van
ambulances with sirens
post office vans
vans of other randomness
crazy shouting people

Oh to move to somewhere quieter!

Last summer upon sitting in the garden I had to put his piano sonatas on really loud to hear them over that racket!!

I shall be going to the woods more this year.

Ah I do love having music in the country side, the woodlands, the beach. In fact, when I was in Florida a couple months ago, I stood on the beach watching the ocean while listening to the Eroica.

The perfect situation would be a warm, calm day in the mountains, perhaps on a mountain top or above a beautiful valley, depending on the piece being listened to.

I don't regard this as necessarily being a problem - it can lead to some absurd fun when least expected. You know, confusing the sexes, learning about squirrels, tackling simple arithmetical problems (yet coming up with the wrong answer), etc...
