    There seems to be some mystery surrounding this piece of music as to its authenticity. Well, it's a very pretty piece nonetheless and it does sound like a Beethovenian piece to these ears. But we'll probably never know for sure! It just adds to the mystic of the master!

      I'd have a very difficult time believing this piece was not Beethoven's. Parts of it actually remind me a little of Op. 81a.

          I'm convinced of it's authenticity. I wouldn't knowingly provide you with someone else's stuff (or I hope even unknowingly!). I've even read that some scholars thought this may have been a piece by Mozart!!! Even a casual listen proves this is of course nonsence, but it confirms my suspicions about music professors! Great piece of music though.

            Maybe so, but from hearing I would hazzard a guess that B wrote this piece at the age of circa 24.

              That sounds about right to me - I wasn't trying to imply I thought it was composed around the same time as Op. 81a, you understand.
