I read that after George Bridgetower played violin with Beethoven at the concert of the Kreutzer Sonata, he went drinking with Beethoven and they were getting on very well until he made a joke/insulted a woman that Beethoven knew. Beethoven became angry, and there their friendship ended. Does anyone know who the woman whose honour Beethoven defended was?
