Every year, radio station WETA polls listeners for their favorites, and plays the top 90 during Thanksgiving week. Beethoven's Symphony 9 always comes in first. This year was no exception. Beethoven came in at
#1 - Symphony 9;
#3 - Symphony 6;
#7 - Symphony 7;
#9 - Piano Concerto 5;
#11 - Symphony 5;
#20 - Violin Concerto;
#23 - Symphony 3;
#29 - Moonlight Sonata;
#41 - Triple Concerto;
#80 - Piano Concerto 3;
#89 - Piano Sonata 21 (Waldstein);
and #90 = Piano Concerto #4.
Not a bad set.
The only piece of the ninety that sounded unfamiliar to me was Richard Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto, and I liked it.
