    Perhaps classical music will not perish in a near future.

    I say it because some things bring a little hope. Like this one:

    I think the greatest hope for CM actually comes from the east - more young people are learning musical instruments there. I notice this as well at local music festivals with more oriental children winning - it is great to see that western classical music has such a global influence.

      Maybe you're right. There are more concert halls in Japan than in any of the main European countries.

      I think it's no wonder. Today Europe is the world. I mean, European civilization has scattered over the surface of the globe.

        Well at least Classical music is some of the best of that civilisation!

          There is a program I've heard parts of from time to time called "From the Top". Mostly, it's about the young people coming into their own as Classical Musicians and the overall thought is that Classical Music is far from dead:
