    Klemperer and the German Requiem

Perhaps some of you can tell me if Otto Klemperer made any recording of the Requiem in stereophonic sound. I would like so much to enjoy a recording like that, above all if it was made in a recording studio. That he died in 1973 is all I know, and stereophony began in the 1960s.

    Have you checked this one?

From what I gather, this was originally recorded in 1961 in stereo.

Well it's really been silly of me, for what I actually have is a stereo recording. I did not remember. Now, it would be nice to have a discography of Klemperer, so I could know how many times he recorded the requiem. 1961 is one year, but could there have been more. For example, a have a Backhaus discography (do not ask how I got it, I cant remember). So, chance s are good to find a Klemperer discography. In his recording of the Requiem I specially like the loudness of the timpani in relation to the rest of the orchestra and in the crescendi with timpani. Unless this has been messed by the recording engineers, who use to do many odd things to recordings.
