On the contrary, Peter, it's no help at all. Thanks.

Good try but not so I'm afraid - further big clue; the work is a ballet derived from another work by the same composer.

Herr von Blue Baron, a few more (helpful!) clues if you would be so kind. If it's not too much trouble for you to take some time out from biting the heads off whippets, which we know is one of your favourite pastimes.

Weak attempt PDG, weak. But we're not going to let the Blue Baron win, are we?

The Blue Baron is obviously still too busy biting the heads off whippets to give us a few helpful pointers. Without proposing any definite response to Q2, the answer must lie in the key words "colourful" and "offering". The words "Royal Ballet" are either irrelevant or a stinky red herring.

All the words you have selected are relevant - there are no red herrings!

                      Q2

Q2: Maybe it's Frederick Ashton's ballet "Birthday Offering" which he created to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Royal Ballet. Ashton used various bits of the music of Russian composer Alexander Glazunov.

Yes welcome to the forum - good attempt, but a previous clue was that the ballet derives from a work by the same composer.
