It seems that this concert was broadcast on Performance Today. I caught a bit of it on the drive home, but it wasn't really enough to get a decent listen. The announcers quite liked the performances, though.
Just came across a positive review of this in the Sunday Times and I am pleased to discover that Gardiner has re-instated the scherzo and trio repeats in the third movement of the Fifth Symphony, which Beethoven removed after a lot of dithering.
I would have preferred if, instead, Beethoven had cut the repeats in the scherzo of No. 7 (but what do I know).
