Well, here goes. The principles of the game are as follows:
a) The first poster gives a word beginning with "A" that is somehow related to LvB, and then explains the reference. For example, if I were to start I'd begin thus:
"A" is for Albrechtsberger, Beethoven's counterpoint teacher;
b) The next poster (anyone, but not the first poster) says "B" is for Brentano, B's friend (or whatever);
c) If after a suitable period (shall we say 24 hrs?) nobody can come up with the next letter, it is then down to the previous poster to provide the next letter and reference;
d) Continue thus until you have exhausted the index in Solomon, Thayer and any other sources;
e) Admit defeat and send a cheque to either Roehre or Michael, with 10% to Peter and Chris.
